Planning

As part of Cultural Studies we looked at Myths and Legends....

What defines a culture-
I think how they act and what they eat
and what they wear defines a culture.

I think that language, clothes, food and religion show how people live
and what their culture is also feasts/festivals show what they celebrate
and what they do different to us.

I think a flag defines a culture because of the colour.
I think food defines a culture becuase of the stuff they eat.
I think myths and legends define a culture because it tells you
about the stuff they believe in.

I think a religion can define a culture because a lot of cultures rely
on religion to guide them, it can also change the way their landscape
is designed (eg cities).

My culture is completly different from an African culture, we believe in
different things do things differently and we were brought up differently.

What defines a culture is what they believe in, their feasts or festivals
and the myths and legends they tell.

I think that a culture defines what is important to them like their flag,
their language and also who they are or what they believe in,
such as their religions.

Things that defines a culture are different this that makes a culture unique.
What also helps define a culture is it's location or where abouts in the world
your culture comes from. Food is also very important because like Hindus
they like hot and spicey food. Different things like your religion, clothes, festivals,
flag, anthems, language and myths and legends help make your culture different.

Jonny.
First we had to draw a myth or legend.
We cut up little strips of paper and we cut them into 1cm square.
Then we had to glue the little squares onto the paper and it made a picture.
Brady.
First we had to trace or freehand a myth or legend picture.
We had to cut little pieces of 1cm coloured paper and glue them together, 5mm apart.
Anthony.
Mine really wasn't a mosaic, it was a collage.
I sprinkled the little squares on.
Victoria.
We made a mosaic.
The squares had to be 1cm square.
The picture had to be of a creature from a myth or legend.
Rauin.
Using 1cm coloured squares of paper I attached them to my sketch of Archilles, which I drew freehand, with glue.
